That's All Folks

Well, here I am, sundown on the last day of my journeys. Tomorrow I wake early and spend 24 hours in airports and planes, to land, I'm told, in the middle of a west coast winter. Yikes! It's certainly been a first rate treat to be warm, wide-eyed, and perfectly free for these past 100 or so days. The cold I reported last time lingers still - down to a slight sore throat and occasional cough now, but still refusing to vanish completely.

No adventures to report. I've stuck to my plan of being a beach bum here in my favourite corner of paradise and have been so perfectly content in my hedonistic lapse into complete relaxation. It seems an abstract notion that it's all over (for now), but I am poignantly sad to be saying goodbye. It's off now to have some sort of fabulous seafood dinner down by the water, then pick up my laundry, and then probably head down to the Cool Bay bar to buy a round for the rowdier of the dive community, the friendly and always smiling proprietors, and the two local dissolute Scandanavian blondes that are there every night without fail.

And that's it. It's been a complete pleasure being your South East Asia correspondent.

Over and out.
