In the fall and winter of 2002/2003 I took 3 months off work to travel around Thailand. Thailand was recommended to me by my friend and then co-worker Bob, a lifelong traveller with a wealth of experience and knowledge. This was my first significant trip anywhere overseas. Reading back through these journals I am, in spots, struck by the naievity I carried in the early weeks of this adventure. Some of the early impressions I have related here are just plain wrong, but I'm letting them stand as a testament to my greenhorn status. Much of it though is simply a good tale of an adventure that I loved having.
